When I was a little girl, I spent hours browsing through my grandmother and aunt's jewelry boxes. It was heavenly. My earliest memories are of golden bracelets richly laden with enchanting charms...a spinning wheel that really spun...an enameled jack-in-the-box that popped up when gently coaxed...and the many other mementos of a life well lived.
I can still remember receiving pieces of jewelry to celebrate my life's milestones -- birthdays, Christmas, First Communion. My first love was a delicate purple enamel butterfly ring. I was heartbroken when I discovered I had left it behind in our motel room while on vacation. Thankfully, Dad promptly turned the car around and went back so I could retrieve it. Then I was blessed with a beautifully engraved cross for my First Communion followed by not one, but two, amber hued Venetian glass bangle bracelets. Imagine my delight when the lovely diamond cut-ins sparkled as I turned my wrist.
Today, I collect every style of jewelry imaginable from ethnic-beaded bracelets to old fashioned brooches and contemporary earrings. My favorites are ones I've discovered at art festivals, galleries and estate jewelry sales and include treasures from the Victorian and Art Deco eras, as well as the 40's and 50's.
Miss Jane's Dainty Classic Jewelry Collection was inspired by my three nieces -- Emily, Casey and Caroline. I was eager to introduce them to the enchanting world of jewelry, when I discovered there wasn't anything of keepsake quality available for children. So, I started designing pieces to commemorate their special events with their individual tastes and styles in mind.
Nothing would please me more than to have my designs inspire other little girls. So if you have an angel in your life you'd like to delight, why not surprise her with a lasting remembrance from Miss Jane's Dainty Classic Jewelry Collection. You just might start a lifelong tradition.
Thank you,
Jane Ramsey
P.S. I grew up Jane Dunson in Troy, Ohio and have been a Fort Lauderdale, Florida resident since 1978. I have an art school background with a degree in Interior Design. This is where I met and married my husband Jim. We have been married since 1982. I have spent these last years working in the construction and design world. My first love, however, will always be jewelry.
